A vessel of latex rubber,
She lay shining, perfect and pink,
Beside her brother who was
Violet purple in his hue.
A hovering hand chose the two
In the glow of a child’s delight.
Deftly, they both rose to life,
Tugging and bobbing
On their bright tethers,
Which ere could hold them back.
Thus, they lived,
Bounding and joyful.
But came the day
Their life had ebbed away.
Limply shriveled were the shells
That once danced so dearly,
Playing in the winds of life.
Their life-bringing essence
Dissipated,
Yet eternal still.
Laughing molecules
Absolutely in tune
And ever part of the great
Oneness of Life
