Horrified, she hailed the hellacious deed he did.
Her heart, it was horribly hurt.
She gathered and garnered her personal pity
And nailed him smack dab to the wall
Where he hung,
Condemned and scorned for all to see.
Then, with a deep sigh and shake of her head
She condescendingly said,
“I know what is right, for I follow the light,
And I study and pray.
So, I know the only way to solve this
And thus to resolve it,
Is for me to do what I’m doing right now.
I forgive you.”
With a tight-lipped smile on her weary-worn face,
She gave him her grace.
Yet, he did not feel forgiven.
Bitterly he walked, fevered with guilt,
Heavy steps mired in sin.
Nor could the martyred misery of her eyes
Keep back the tide
For there came the day
He did it again.
Nakedly nailed to the wall,
In full view of all
She forgave him once more.
Now, a double halo shone round her head.
Woefully she walked with the weight of his wrong.
Wonderful of her to forgive him.
Yet, he did not feel forgiven.
With the fear of hell burning
His fevered brow,
In the wretchedness of his darkest night
There came an angel of light
Who gently unloosened each nail
From its fleshy place.
Soothing each wound,
She set him down
Lighter than air,
Free of all bonds.
In shame his head hung low
Nor did he move when she said,
“My friend, you may go.”
Consumed with the fire of guilt,
he searched her eyes,
Pleading for the answer to his
One question.
“Will God forgive me?”
Her smile was serene,
Her gaze was pure light.
As she gently counseled,
“Do you not feel the truth of what you are?
Search deep within your heart.”
In pure wonderment, he exclaimed.
“I do feel it!
Such love I’ve never experienced!”
“Then, you know, of course,
The answer to your question is,
No.
For god is Love
That same love which is the truth of yourself as well.
Love does not attack nor condemn.
Ever.
Thus, god will never forgive you
Being there is nothing in Love’s eyes to forgive.”
He knew it was so.
In grace and joy,
He knew it.
At last, in this Love,
he felt free and forgiven.
